Dear Praying Friends,
With PRAISE! we send this quick update and upcoming plans as Father continues to lead us. As some as you may already know, the Helzerman family has safely arrived into Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The 5 Passports that were in need of Visas were in our hands 4 days before we needed to fly! I still am not sure how it all came together, but ultimately God saw fit to allow our prayer to be answered as it fit in His Will. We must give Him the Glory and ever seek His Face for His Will to be done in our lives. We have first hand confirmation that there is nothing better than doing as Father wills.
Now, these past few day, we have traveled around to different stores and places to purchase our next 2 months supply for the jungle work. Our friend, Neils Gade, graciously allowed use the use of his vehicle to accomplish this. Although we just now had radiator problems with this car, most of the trips to gather the needed supply has been accomplished. We pray the repair will not be too expensive.
Lord willing, we will be flying to Kaintiba on Wednesday, the 11th of July, and settle back into our small house set on the hillside. It will be a joy to see all the people again, and have already had people call us from the mountains to see if it was really true we had returned. Several men said they were overjoyed to see our arrival after so many months away. Even in the mixed emotions of leaving family and friends in the USA, our joy of being found where the blessings of the Lord are is worth it all. No “sacrifice” is too great to give to our Saviour Who gave EVERYTHING! Come what may, Father will always be faithful, as He always has been. He is always true to His Word!
This lengthy furlough was a great blessing and benefit. Tabitha was married and Titus was graduated from high school and launching out on his own. Overall, our family has a needed restoration time and found needed help from our pastors and home church. Father cared for us sufficiently, even in the midst of the loss of some financial supporters. Even so, more people banned together in prayer for us, and for this we are in great debt. The house and vehicle that was given by Mrs. Jamie Parfitt was a great benefit also, so that we could come and go as we needed. So many other blessings could be listed, that showed how Father cared for us as we were in the USA.
Now, we again look to Him for His outpouring of care as we settle into our normal schedule. There will be another flight next week (Lord willing) to bring the remaining supplies and luggage from Port Moresby. Our friend Matt Weber said he would sent $ to cover the expense of this 2nd flight. Other than several of out standing expenses from living in the USA, all the cost for the supplies and flights are paid for. Even so, pray about more future solar supplies, a generator, and a drum of petrol. Also, pray for us as we seek to win the souls that we have invested in these several years. Pray for the young Christians that they will commit to baptism and maturity in their faith. We seek to glorify God, and do rejoice to preach the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the regions beyond you.
Christi’s Corner: No one can prepare a mom for saying goodbye to her kids. This time leaving was the hardest yet. I still get tears in my eyes. Leaving two children in the states is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do! God has been using it in my life to draw me closer to Him while shewing me how I need to lean on Him. Thank you for all who have been praying for the transition. Please continue to pray! For His Glory,
For His Glory,
Mark and Christi Helzerman
