Dear Praying Friends,

Well, since our last letter, we have bought tickets and will be boarding the plane in just a little under two days! We leave (or by the time you read this, will have left) Rochester on March 3rd to fly to Los Angeles and continuing on to PNG Sunday, March 6th. Not only do we have tickets in hand, we also have our passports back – and they have our 3 year visas for PNG stamped in them! This stamp has been sought after and prayed for for so long that it is almost unbelievable to think we are finally finished with all of that paperwork and on our way!

The last two weeks have been so busy packing. With seven children and two adults, there is a lot of planning and logistics that go into moving your belongings from one side of the world to another – and trying to do that all within the confines of airline luggage limits! That is behind us now as we prepare to enter this country that God has called us to! Our first stop in PNG will be Port Moresby. We will be there for a few days to pick up the supplies that we need to continue on to our new home. We will fly into Kerema on March 11th. We will be getting involved in our new ministry quickly as Sunday, March 13th is a special meeting at the church that I will be ministering in – “Round Up Sunday.” I will be preaching this service. It is a great thing to be able to serve right away in the land that the Lord has called us to.

We are so grateful for your prayers – they are what have carried us here. Please continue to pray for us as we work to settle ourselves in PNG. Our family is excited that we are here, and we are excited to be able to continue serving the Lord, just in a different place. We have a lot to do in the next months as we work in the ministry here and begin working on the home that we will live in. We know that God is doing great things in PNG, and we are humbled that He is allowing us to be a part of it.

As we conclude this newsletter, our family has arrived in Papua New Guinea. We praise the Lord for all He has done to get us here. Thank you all for your faithfulness to God. Proverbs 25:13 is our new "life verse". We pray that our lives here will be a refreshing to our God and His people.

For His Glory,
Mark Helzerman and Family
