Dear Praying Friends,

“Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His Word…” Yes. It truly is sweet to trust in the omnipotent hand of our beloved Saviour. We see from the generations recorded in the scriptures unto this generation the reward of trusting in God. Being on deputation has taught us to look into the face of Christ Jesus and seek His sustaining grace. We continue to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

In January we continued to meetings we had in Texas. Our friends at Wild Peach Baptist Church (Brazoria, Texas) were so kind and gracious to us. There, they had a preachers conference and included several missionaries to have a part. “For Such a Time as This” was the theme and very appropriate for the day and age we live. We see in the book of Ruth the importance of being willing to give what we cannot keep to gain what we cannot loose.

It was during this meeting that the news came of the passing of our dear friend Pastor Hank Thompson. I was able to go to his memorial service just a few days later that week. It was the sweetest funeral service I had ever been to. Although Pastor Thompson’s soul was with our Father, his memory will go on for many years to come. The reason for this is because he invested so much of himself into others for the glory of God. He said one time, as he was preaching that he was “selfish” as he put it. He wanted God to bless him the most, so he wanted to please God to the best of his ability. Without a doubt God Pastor Thomson was blessed greatly by God…he was a giant in our day.

From Brazoria we headed north a couple hours to New Caney, Texas. Several people from East River Baptist Church came to me and said they were encouraged from watching and hearing our presentation. This church has been a blessing to many missionaries in Papua New Guinea for many years. They have had a part in seeing many souls to come to Christ. We thank God for their faithfulness.

We have also been in a few churches in Florida. Currently our family is at a church in LaGrange, Georgia. There have been two churches that have just recently begun to support us financially. To God be the glory! Thank you all who pray for us regularly.

Due to changes with the post office, we now need to have our address label say "or current resident" to be able to continue mailing in bulk.  If your mailing address changes from now on, they will no longer forward our letter or return it to us with the correct address, so please let us know if you are going to change your address so that you can continue receiving our prayer letters! May God bless you all as you continue in Him.

For His Glory,
Mark Helzerman and Family
